emerald Cup

Equity Trade Network Collaborates with Root’d 510 for the 20th Annual Emerald Cup that took place at the newly remodeled Henry J. Kaiser Center for the Arts in Oakland. This framework has allowed us to bolster the collaborative economy within the cannabis equity eco-system we are cultivating. This allowed us to showcase 20 equity brands.

These collaborations are not just a business venture; it represents a significant stride towards inclusivity and equity in a sector that has historically marginalized communities of color. Set against the backdrop of Oakland—the birthplace of the first cannabis equity program—this partnership stands as a beacon of hope and progress.

The Importance of the Collaboration

  • The cannabis industry has witnessed explosive growth over the past decade, yet the benefits have not been evenly distributed. Many entrepreneurs from marginalized communities face systemic barriers that hinder their access to resources, funding, and market opportunities. The collaboration between Equity Trade Network and Root’d 510 and Emerald Cup addresses these challenges.

  • The retail outlet serves as a microcosm of the collaborative economy, where shared resources and mutual support foster innovation and growth. By pooling their strengths, members of the Equity Trade Network and Root’d 510 exemplify how collaboration can create a more inclusive business ecosystem.

  • Oakland has long been at the forefront of cannabis equity initiatives. The city’s first cannabis equity program was established to rectify the injustices faced by communities impacted by cannabis prohibition. Now on our road to healing and building towards an economic model that works for the many vs the few, working together is the precise energy that honors a new legacy for our community as we work to revitalize local economy by supporting small businesses.

  • The collaboration sets an important precedent for other cities and states with cannabis equity programs. It demonstrates that successful partnerships can emerge from a shared vision of equity and access. As more regions look to implement similar initiatives, the success of this collaboration could serve as a model for future endeavors.
